Who can use the HEA water analysis?
Any resident of Portola Valley, Purissima Hills Water customer and current user of HEA energy
analysis software can use the water analysis service. You will need one year's worth of monthly water usage data.
- If your water service is Cal Water or Purissima Hills Water District, the software will automatically retrieve your usage.
- If you have an HEA energy analysis account but are not a Cal Water or Purissima Hills customer, you can enter your monthly water use manually.
How do I create a water analysis account?
You'll need your account number from your water provider and your street address.
How is HEA water analysis different from water utility websites?
HEA software does a more in-depth analysis of your water usage to help you
pinpoint the areas where you need to save. We also provide targeted recommendations.
What happens when I create a HEA water analysis account?
HEA software automatically retrieves the previous 24 months of water usage and billing data
from your water utility account. You'll then step through
an interactive, on-line analysis which estimates the cost of water for this year if you don't reduce,
categorizes your water use as indoor or outdoor, compares your use to efficiency standards, and offers
targeted suggestions to reduce.
Will my data be safe?
Your data will be held in strict confidence
on a secure server and will only be used to help you reduce
your water use.
How much does this cost?
It is free to anyone with a Portola Valley address, Purissima Hills Water District customers, and all current users of HEA energy analysis software.
Will I have to pay for anything?
You don't have to pay for the analysis but are responsible for
any water saving devices. There are many rebate programs available. Cal Water customers can check the rebate
section of the Cal Water
website.
How do you use my water utility account?
We will access your water utility account to download your water usage for the past year. We do not use any data
besides your name, address and monthly water use. We'll continue to access your account to download your monthly usage for a year. You
can log back into your account at any time to review changes in your water usage.
Do you see my credit card and banking information?
No. We do not have any access to any payment information.
Who sees my water usage data?
No one has access to your individual data except you and the program administrators.
We will access individual information for software and algorithm testing purposes, but your name and address
will never be published or associated with specific water data without written consent. We will aggregate water savings data
for different communities, reports, and publications, but this data will never be traceable to a particular home or user.
We protect your personal information in compliance with Title 20 of California's Code of Regulations, Sections 2505(a)(5)(A)
and (B); n.b. 2505(a)(5)(B)(8).
